How we use your personal data

Who we are
This website is run by Neogreen Vineyard Investments Limited, the developer of ILU Green Homes ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here, under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect
When you send the enquiry form
- Your name and WhatsApp number.
- What you are asking for, the type of home you are interested in, whether you live in Kenya or abroad, and any message you write.
- Details that are sent with the form: the page you were on, the website that referred you, and campaign tags in the web address (for example, which advert you clicked).
When you contact us directly
If you call, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your number or address and what you tell us.
When you browse the site
- Analytics, only if you accept cookies. We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they view, where they came from, and which buttons they use (such as sending the form, calling or opening WhatsApp). Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. If you decline, it is not loaded at all.
- Your cookie choice is saved in your browser, so we do not ask again on every visit. Campaign tags are kept in your browser for the length of your visit, so they can be sent with the form.
- Hosting. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
Who receives it
- Our sales team, who receive form enquiries by email and reply to you on WhatsApp or by phone.
- Twilio SendGrid, which delivers the enquiry email to our sales team.
- Google, for Google Analytics (if you accept cookies), and for YouTube when you choose to play a video on the site.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website.
- Meta (WhatsApp), when we message each other on WhatsApp.
- Our advocates, JRO Advocates LLP, if you go ahead with a purchase.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Kenya, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards allowed by the Data Protection Act, 2019, such as the provider’s contractual commitments on data protection.
Videos and maps
Videos on this site come from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; after that, Google’s privacy policy applies. The Directions button opens Google Maps, which is also covered by Google’s privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: 2 years, or for as long as we are in contact about a purchase.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, after which Google deletes it.
- Your cookie choice: until you clear your browser data or change it under Cookie settings.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- be told how your data is used (this page);
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected, or deleted;
- object to us using it, including for follow-up about sales;
- withdraw your consent to analytics at any time, using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page;
- receive your data in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email sales@ilugreenhomes.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (www.odpc.go.ke). If you live in the UK or the EU, you have similar rights under their data protection laws and can also complain to your local regulator.
Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Enquiries are not stored on the website; they are sent straight to our sales team by email. Access to enquiries is limited to the people who handle them.
Children
This website is for adults buying property. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
